chickens, and turkeys to speed growth and prevent disease in their
unsanitary, overcrowded, and stressful warehouses. Antibiotics are used
as a crutch to maintain animals in terribly inhumane conditions. Such
"nontherapeutic"use in healthy farm animals accounts for an estimated 70%
of all antibiotics used in this country. Overuse of antibiotics is
