National Urban League Wins Top Multicultural Marketing Award #BlackAmerica #NUL

The National Urban League’s 2016  State of Black America outreach campaign has won an Excellence in Multicultural Marketing Award from the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications.

“The State of Black America is one of the most important messages the National Urban League delivers each year, and this year’s 40th anniversary edition was even more significant,” National Urban League President and CEO Marc H. Morial said. “Our outreach targeted policymakers and those in a position to influence policy with a goal of clearly identifying the systemic economic, educational and social inequities that remain entrenched in the United States after 40 years of issuing the report.

The “Main Street Marshall Plan” a package of comprehensive policy proposals contained in the report, recently was the subject of testimony before the Democratic National Committee’s platform committee.

The State of Black America marketing campaign, which garnered 158 million earned media impressions and a digital reach of 8.6 million,  placed first in the Association’s Digital Marketing Tactics category.

Founded in 1980, NAMIC is the premier organization that educates, advocates and empowers for multi-ethnic diversity in the communications industry.  The award will be announced during a special recognition luncheon at the 30th Annual NAMIC Conference on Wednesday, September 21, and select winners will be featured in the “Diversity Week” issue of Cablefax magazine.
