Victory In Washington Upholds State Trapping Ban

The Fund for Animals and dozens of other organizations, organized
under the banner of Protect Pets and Wildlife (ProPAW), applauded a
Washington Supreme Court ruling upholding I-713, an initiative backed
by The Fund and approved by Washington voters in 2000. I-713 restricts
the use of steel-jawed leghold traps, snares, and Conibear traps,
which are commonly used to catch animals for their fur. It also bans
the use of Compound 1080 and sodium cyanide, which had been used by
the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
