ACT NOW: END AIDS Coalition Launches #HIV #AIDS

A new, groundbreaking coalition of more than 20 HIV and AIDS advocacy organizations was announced at the US Conference on AIDS with the goal of ending AIDS in the United States.  ACT NOW: END AIDS will seek to ensure access to treatment for those living with HIV and expand access to preventative measures like Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP). It will also collaborate with other organizations to combat drivers of HIV like stigma, prejudice, and homelessness.

“We look forward to working with ACT NOW in the crucial fight to achieve an AIDS-free generation in America,” said HRC President Chad Griffin. “For decades, these organizations have been committed to ending the HIV and AIDS epidemic and, together, they bring to the table the skills, knowledge, and experience to ensure people living with HIV have the care, treatment and dignity every person deserves.”

ACT NOW includes advocacy organizations that have been working on HIV and AIDS for more than two decades, including the Treatment Action Group, Housing Works, National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS, Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC), New York AIDS Institute, AIDS United, Black AIDS Institute, 30 for 30, NASTAD, AIDS Alabama, Latino Commission on AIDS, San Francisco AIDS Foundation, NMAC, Souther HIV/AIDS Strategy Initiative, AIDS Foundation of Chicago, Southern AIDS Coalition, AIDS Free Pittsburgh, Sister Love, Getting to Zero Massachusetts, END AIDS Dallas, and Legacy Community Health.
