The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) just released proposed
regulations that could result in more than 8.5 million Canada geese
being exterminated in the United States over a ten-year period. These
new regulations would allow the USFWS to abandon its responsibility to
protect geese under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, and instead give
the lower 48 states the opportunity to kill large numbers of geese.
