Kirsten Gillibrand did "an about face" with her efforts last week to impose an 18-month moratorium on enforcement of the discriminatory "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law. Nothing could be further from the truth. Sen. Gillibrand has always supported full repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
In the last several months, Sen. Gillibrand has truly become a national leader in the effort to repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." After trying to build the 60-vote threshold for an amendment to the Department of Defense Authorization bill to halt enforcement of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," Sen. Gillibrand worked with Chairman Levin to secure a commitment for a hearing in the fall
