At Our Twilight Tour, Farm Sanctuary Residents Visited with Friends Before Heading to Bed
This past weekend, animal advocates gathered at Farm Sanctuary’s Southern California Shelter for our Twilight Tour event, at which guests learned about the nighttime routines and behaviors of our residents, visited with the animals, heard from musician and activist Moby about his road to animal-friendly eating, and enjoyed plant-based snacks and vegan wine!

Olive chicken meets a new friend.
Sophie pig shows off her modeling skills.
Bruno, one of our friendliest residents (we like to think of him as our one-ton black Labrador of a steer), enjoyed lots of pets and hugs!
Bruno got lots and lots of attention, and he loved every minute of it.
Sophie pig had a great time visiting with friends! (She got plenty of belly rubs, a favorite piggy activity.)
Sophie also made sure to offer plenty of photo ops. Such a good model!
Goat pals Maria, left, and Sofie, right, soaked up the attention.
Maria, who was rescued from a backyard butcher, would have good reason to fear humans — but instead, she is one of our most loving residents.
Honky Tonk donkey had a great time being petted and loved on…
…but he made sure to take a little time out for a snack with pal Paolo steer.
Moby spoke movingly about living with compassion for animals…
…and visited with some of his Farm Sanctuary friends, including Paolo! He poignantly articulated the experience on social media.

The spread was delicious and cruelty-free, and we are so grateful to the amazing and compassionate companies (including Native Foods Cafe, Punk Rawk Labs, Daiya, Crunch Master, Starlight Taquitos, Cedar’s Hummus, Treeline cheese, Field Roast, Beanfields, and Follow your Heart) who made it possible!
Fruit-and-cheese plate? Check! No dairy products required.
For those of age and so inclined, the menu included tasty whites and reds!
Guests enjoying the good food and good company!
Senior Caregiver Kerrie Wooten discusses our residents’ bedtime.
The ever-watchful Yoda llama supervised the event from his hilly overlook.
Serena turkey hopes you’ll visit us soon she’s a little partial to our annual Celebration for the Turkeys events, of course! Check out our other upcoming events here and learn how to join us for a sanctuary tour here.
