The Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) awarded $1.4 million in grant funding to 33 organizations that address HIV and AIDS in “critical and innovative ways.” Founded nearly 25 years ago by Sir Elton John, the EJAF works “to end the AIDS epidemic by ensuring everyone has the information and means to prevent infection and all people living with HIV have access to high-quality medical care and treatment.”
The HRC Foundation received a $300,000 renewal grant support to year two of the HRCF’s HIV 360° Fellowship Program. HIV 360° is a unique, capacity-building fellowship program for young, non-profit leaders looking to take HIV-inclusive organizations and initiatives to the next level. HRC announced the inaugural class of HIV 360° fellows earlier this year following a nationwide search that yielded 89 applicants from 25 states. In addition, the EJAF grant will support student activists in promoting HIV prevention, treatment and care on college and university campuses nationwide, as well as to expand our public education and outreach efforts generally.
“For nearly 25 years, the Elton John AIDS Foundation has been committed to aggressively confronting the [HIV & AIDS] epidemic where it exists,” said EJAF Founder Elton John. “We are proud of this newest round of investments, in which we fund advocacy and services in over 30 locations in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic.”
