Sierra Club Applauds New England States for Wind and Solar Selection in Clean Energy RFP #CleanEnergy #BeyondCoal

Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island have selected approximately 460 megawatts (MWs) of new wind and solar projects for the New England energy market to fulfill a joint “request for proposal.”

In response, Emily Norton, Massachusetts Chapter Director for the Sierra Club issued the following statement:

“When New England works together, great things can happen. These projects will contribute to a robust clean energy industry that will bring solar and wind energy to the region, stabilize power prices, provide jobs to the community and help keep families healthy. As Massachusetts considers additional projects in the coming year, officials should continue to focus on meeting state climate commitments and delivering those benefits through wind and solar projects in New England. ”
