Powerful New Book On Animal Protection Published

A powerful new book advancing the cause of animal protection is
receiving high praise from critics across the country. Written by
Matthew Scully, a longtime member of The Fund and until recently a
special assistant and senior speechwriter to President George W. Bush,
the book is entitled "Dominion: The Power of Man, the Suffering of
Animals, and the Call to Mercy" (St. Martin's Press).

Scully's
argument against cruelty in all its forms–from whaling to trophy
hunting to factory farming–is bringing animal issues before a
national audience as few books have done before. "Scully has written
what is surely destined to be a classic defense of mercy," says The
Washington Post. "A master of language, he leaves a memorable phrase
on virtually every page." This book is one of the most important
recent contributions to the literature on animal rights, and it is a
must-read for animal advocates.
